This garden was built on the 14 floor of a balcony facing south/west. The hot, dry sun baked the previous garden and a weekend away meant dead plants. This custom self-watering garden solved the problem. A waterproof seal in the bottom of the garden box creates a reservoir that can be filled with water. This creates a constant water source for the plants. An overflow tube drains off excess water when there is ample rain. The owner can leave for a week and the garden is fine.
